If there’s one thing that gets me excited for summer in Montreal, it’s Piknic Électronik. This event isn’t just a music festival; it’s a weekly tradition that brings together a community of people who love music, good vibes, and making the most of the sunny days. For me, it’s a staple of my summer routine! Most sundays I’m at Parc Jean-Drapeau with my friends, soaking in the beats, the energy, and the incredible atmosphere that makes Piknic Électronik so unique.

The season pass lets me enjoy Piknic Électronik every week, which is way better than buying individual tickets for each event, especially if you’re as into music as I am. Plus, students get a discount, so the final price is even cheaper! It's all about the music, and this pass makes sure you never miss a beat.

The Beat That Keeps Me Coming Back

Piknic Électronik has been a part of my life for years, and every season, the lineup just keeps getting better. I’ve seen some truly legendary sets here! DJs & artists like: Charlotte de Witte, The Blaze,Parfait, DJ, VTSS, Solomun, and Amelie Lens just 2 weeks ago!! I have graced the m all in stage, turning what would be an ordinary Sunday into an unforgettable experience. But it’s not just about the big names; Piknic is known for showcasing emerging talent from the local and international electronic music scene. I’ve discovered so many amazing artists just by wandering from stage to stage, letting the music guide my day.

One of my most memorable experiences was actually 2 weeks ago for Amelie Lens. It was raining but it started off as the perfect little rain breeze and while arriving to piknic, everyone had their ponchos and umbrellas set up haha but people never stopped vibin' and dancing.

That night in particular was really special for the lineup itself, 3 amazing female djs had Montreal jumping. BitterCaress opened up the set, following up Adiel and by the time that Amelie Lens was setting up before Adiel finished her set it started pouring raining soo intense haha but everyone was just following the vibe and the party. It actually felt like I was in one of those amousemnet parks that have the water attraction were you get splashed, it was unreal! Specially since it is an outdoor event, I felt free dancing in the rain.

By the time that It was just Amelie on stage the rain stopped and everyone was just hyped and dancing through the beat of the music. The crowd was one of the best ones I've ever seen! Everyone was super friendly & happy. It felt as if we were all connected and we knew each other since years ago. We were all vibin' together.

Families with kids playing on the grass, couples dancing like no one’s watching, and groups of friends lounging on blankets with their picnic spreads. You’ll see toddlers rocking out with their parents, teens trying to get the perfect Instagram shot, and even older folks who are just there for the music and the good vibes. I’ve made so many new friends just by striking up conversations with the people around me t’s that kind of place.

Going to piknic with my girlfriends is soo much fun! Girls take care of each other, always! We go everywhere, all around Piknic, exploring both of their stages, and we always end up meeting cool and amazing people! Everyone has a unique vibe and style in how they express themselves, it’s super fun to watch, for real! Everyone’s just vibin!

The food truck lineup is always a highlight, offering everything from gourmet grilled cheese and poutine to exotic street food from around the world. I usually start my day with a cold drink and something tasty, then make my way to the main stage to see what’s happening. And if you’re not dancing, there are plenty of other ways to stay entertained. Ever tried your hand at cornhole or played a round of giant Jenga while a DJ spins in the background? It’s as fun as it sounds!

The games and activities are perfect for those moments when you need a break from dancing but aren’t ready to leave the vibe behind. And with so much open space, it’s easy to find a spot to chill with your friends, chat, and recharge before heading back into the action.
